Matthew is a Civil Engineer with 20 yrs experience in the industry. He started work as a design consultant involved in numerour road, highway, drainage and land development projects. During that time, he became an integral part of the 12d development group, developing company standards, conventions, and customisations and providing support and training to users in offices around the world. After his design role, Matthew moved to head up the UK office of 12d Solutions, being responsible for the sales, support and training for all 12d Model users throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Since returning to Australia in 2015, he has setup his own business providing consulting services to the civil infrastructure industry. As part of this work, he has helped develop innovative and streamlined survey and data management processes on large construction projects, including Northconnex, Westconnex Stage 3A, Melbourne Metro and others.

Someone on the 12d Model Forum recently asked whether anyone had drainage.4d files suitable for Victoria. I was able to dig around and find not one, but two, possible files in my archive. I don’t know if they’re correct, but I’m providing them in case they help someone.

Oops! Download links fixed

Thanks to some user feedback on the 12d Model Forum that some links to downloads weren’t working, I’ve had to re-set the “template” used in displaying download links. Turns out an earlier update of a plugin had reset/deleted the previous setting. I’ve now set all the download links again, but this means the posts have been updated and old posts are re-appearing as new posts. Apologies for any confusion caused.

Fit 3d Circle (12d App)

There have been a few recent requests on the 12d Model Forum for ways of fitting a circle/arc through 3 points. Previously, I’ve had the Fit 3pt Arcs (12d App), but that’s designed to fit plan circles to objects. Things like columns, piles, tanks and the like where the surveyor- this was created for surveyors- can only survey points around the outside, but needs a nice clean circular representation for plans.
